Course overview
Students will spend the majority of the time learning to use HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) for managing ProLiant/HP BladeSystem systems running Windows or Linux and performing collections, along with inventory and fault management. The course will also cover the integration of various options within Insight Control Environment for performance, patch management and virtualization. Lab exercises for the course will be done with remote equipment using the HP Virtual Lab (hp.com/go/hpvl).

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Insight Control Environment Foundation (HE643S)
  • Familiarity with general networking terminology and basic network security concepts.
  • An understanding of one of the following operating systems
    - Microsoft Windows 2000, 2000 advanced, 2003 Standard, 2003 Enterprise Edition or Windows XP
    - RedHat Enterprise Linux AS or RedHat Enterprise Linux ES
    - SuSE Linux Enterprise Server
