ProCurve ASE Boot Camp
Course number HH247S
Delivery method
Onsite dedic ated training (OST)
Course overview
The ProCurve ASE Boot Camp was created in order to meet a need for ProCurve partner and reseller network engineers who:
- Possess strong, working knowledge of networking solutions
- Are typically familiar with networking products, but not as familiar with all ProCurve products & solutions, especially high-end products (ProCurve 8212zl, 5400zl, 5300xl, 3500yl, 3400cl and 6400cl series, wireless and security solutions)
- Cannot spend the time required to attend all regular ProCurve Certified Professional trainings
Format offered
The ProCurve ASE Boot Camp is an accelerated course that focuses on ProCurve Networking specifics with a very practical approach for best use of network engineers’ time. It is a 5-day, instructor-led, customized course to give qualified engineers the most efficient knowledge to design, deploy and manage complex, scalable, ProCurve–based solutions to solve customer’s business needs. The ASE Boot Camp is based on the following ProCurve Networking course offerings:
- Building ProCurve Resilient Adaptive Networks v7.41
- ProCurve Security v7.31
- ProCurve Mobility v6.41
IMPORTANT: Class begins promptly at 8:00 AM and runs at least ten hours, sometimes late into the evening. In a typical ProCurve Boot Camp, it is not uncommon for some students to remain past the ten hours depending upon the number and experience of students. Due to the accelerated delivery of this course, students are responsible for learning on their own, ALL of the information (not reviewed in class) in the associated student guides, lab guides and materials provided in preparation for the associated tests (noted under “Certification” section).
Prerequisites
- ProCurve AIS certification is required to attend the ProCurve ASE Boot Camp training (Adaptive EDGE Fundamentals training and associated AIS certification test)
- IP Routing Foundations (eLMS code 24266)
Audience
ProCurve’s ASE Boot Camp is designed primarily for experienced partner and reseller networking engineers that are familiar with the implementation of networking solutions with multi-vendors, but not as familiar specifically with ProCurve Networking products and solutions. This course is designed for those engineers wh- already have very good networking knowledge/experience, including:
- Basic networking technologies (Ethernet, IP addressing, and VLANs - and their use in contemporary networks)
- Routing and traffic filtering technologies (redundant default gateway protocols, RIP, OSPF, and ACLs)
- Design (high-availability and high-capacity features such as Spanning Tree, Rapid Spanning Tree, link aggregation, meshing)
- Security technologies (802.1X, Radius, SSH / SSL)
Certification
The primary objective of the ProCurve ASE Boot Camp is to provide the most efficient and cost effective training path for qualified partner and reseller engineers. It als- helps to prepare students for the ASE – ProCurve Networking by HP certification within the HP Certified Professional program.
The ProCurve ASE Fast Track training is based on the following, combined courses:
- Building ProCurve Resilient Adaptive Networks v7.41 (eLMS code: 38076 – Prometric test ID# HP0-Y12)
- ProCurve Security v7.31 (eLMS code: 37798 – Prometric test ID # HP0-Y11)
- ProCurve Mobility v6.41 (eLMS code: 35074 – Prometric test ID # HP0-752)
