Course overview
While the concepts presented here may be applicable to other environments in which RGS may be used, all course labs and examples will involve one of these two environments. Be sure to check with your training manager or the course scheduler to ensure that the delivery you choose covers the target environment that you support.

Typical audience roles are solution architects, technical sales support, and service/support engineers. Attendees should have prior experience with HP RGS, and should have attended at least one full solution training course on the CCI or HP Blade Workstation Solution. Attendees should already know how to install and use the specific solution upon which they are supporting HP RGS. See the Prerequisites section for further details.

Prerequisites
Students must have attended a previous instructor led training course on the CCI or HP Blade Workstation Solution and this must match the target environment of this course. The following courses meet this prerequisite for deliveries using Workstation Blade labs:

• HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) Overview WBT (HG760AAE)
• HP Blade Workstation Solution Course (HG759S) or CCI Training (U8692S)

The following HP Education training courses will also be beneficial for background skills:

• HP Insight Control Environment Foundation (HE643S)
• HP Blade Administration c-class or equivalent knowledge (HE646S)
• Deploying and updating Insight Control Environment using RDP (HE645S)
• Managing and Monitoring the Insight Control Environment using HP SIM (HE644S)

Audience
This course is intended for customer pre-sales and post-sales support, C&I personnel, system architects, and service engineers who will be providing support for deployments of the HP Blade Workstation Solution or CCI.

After completing this course, you should be able to:

• Describe advanced features and functionality of HP RGS
• Describe how HP RGS is implemented in the HP Blade Workstation Solution or HP Consolidated Client Infrastructure
• Perform advanced configuration of HP RGS for the target environments
• Customize an HP RGS implementation
• Troubleshoot problems in an HP RGS installation

• HP RGS Overview: provides a brief review of HP RGS
• HP RGS Features: describes advanced HP RGS technical features such as remote USB and audio
• Installing HP RGS: describes the HP RGS Sender and HP RGS Receiver installation procedures
• Using the HP RGS Receiver: describes how to configure and use the HP RGS Receiver
• Managing the HP RGS Sender: describes how to configure and manage the HP RGS Sender
• Using HP RGS with HP BWS: describes how to configure HP RGS for use with the HP Blade Workstation Solution. (Covered only in classes using a Workstation Blade lab environment)
• Using HP RGS with HP CCI: describes how to configure HP RGS for use with the HP Consolidated Client Infrastructure. (Covered only in classes using a CCI lab environment)
• Troubleshooting: provides steps for troubleshooting HP RGS
• Laboratory exercises – provides practice configuring HP RGS for the HP Blade Workstation Solution or HP CCI
